- Transfer the JSON backup file to your new device.

Dashboard
Review the garage summary and your saved maintenance information. Open the individual tabs to see or update details.
Vehicles / My Garage
Add each vehicle's year, make, model, trim, engine, oil recommendation, and filter information. Use Edit beside a saved vehicle to update it, then choose Save or Cancel.
Renaming a vehicle also updates linked maintenance and parts entries. Keep vehicle names unique to help WrenchLog match older entries correctly.
Log Entry / Maintenance History
Select the vehicle, enter the service details and mileage, and save the maintenance record. Review your saved records to track previous work.
Parts & Fluids
Save frequently used parts, fluids, and part numbers with the correct vehicle. Search for products using Amazon, eBay, or AutoZone; these open external websites and do not place orders.
Amazon links may contain an affiliate tracking tag. See Legal & Disclosures. Always verify part fitment and specifications before buying.
Where Your Data Lives
WrenchLog saves vehicle, maintenance, and parts data in this browser's local storage. Data is not automatically synchronized across browsers or devices. Clearing browser storage can erase it.
Export a JSON Backup
Open Backup & Restore and click Export Backup JSON. Keep the downloaded file in a safe place. It includes vehicles, maintenance records, and saved parts.
Export again after important updates and before clearing browser data, changing devices, or restoring another backup.
Restore a JSON Backup
Choose your saved JSON file under Backup & Restore and click Restore Data. Read the confirmation message before proceeding.
Warning: Restoring can replace the vehicles, records, and parts currently saved in this browser. Export your current data first if you want to keep it. Click Cancel at the confirmation to stop without importing.
Common Questions
Using another device? Export a backup from the first browser, then restore it in the other browser.
Records missing? Check that you're using the same browser and WrenchLog address. If storage was cleared, restore an earlier JSON backup.
Are part numbers and fluids verified? No. Check the vehicle manufacturer's documentation for exact specifications and safe procedures.
